The Omni-Block combines a swivel and pulley into one tool, and incorporates a unique sideplate that opens while the pulley is still attached to the anchor. Traditionally, a pulley is connected to a swivel by a carabiner. However, the Omni eliminates the need for the carabiner, reducing length and pieces of equipment in the rigging system. The short length of the Omni is important when used in high-angle, confined space or other space-sensitive rigging environments. The reduced weight of the Omni will make hauling your gear easier. Additionally the Omni sideplate can be opened without detaching from the carabiner. Traditional pulleys require removing from the carabiner to change the rope. With the Omni, the user is able to do this while the pulley is still secured.

When it comes to regative rigging you need to consider the potential shock loading that could happen. This increases the force on the rigging hardware. This pulley has a working load limit of 20kN which is 4,496lbs.
So as long as that force (added weight from any potential shock loading) is under that working load you could consider that ok, theoretically. However there might be better alternatives for rigging hardware that takes continuous negative rigging.

We use this Omni Block with a sling for a variety of applications and it's been great!
Amazing Pulley
I have to admit I have send some chunks that I questioned a bit on this thing! The Rock Exotica Omni are so tough and wear amazing. They seem to last forever but can take the abuse all us climbers tend to throw at them! Running this bad boy on a 3/4 pocket sling is my go to for anything of a good size! Highly recommended!!
Will change your rigging game
Easy mid line attachable. Swivel. These 2 features are soo nice to have and you dont realize it until you use less convenient blocks. Love all the sizes for different applications. The Rock Exotica Omni is not for serious negative rigging however.
Get it!
This is a nice piece for redirects and positive rigging. It can take a load!! The Rock Exotica Omni is midline attachable with a 2 click safety measure. With its ability to swivel helps place a log that is being lowered.
Badass block
This Omni is a great all-around tool. Mine is attached to an ultra sling. Works for a light duty negative rigging point, a redirect, and you can do some pretty heavy positive rigging off it too, when paired with some study half-inch double braid. Midline attachable and a built in swivel makes this thing a no brainer. Rock Exotica makes some of the highest quality rigging gear around. Get one.
