With these nice PenSafe Drop Forged Steel Rings you definitely get strength, keep in mind that there will definitely be weight. The 3" is definitely burly so if making a retrievable setup consider that and while smooth finished there is a slight ridge from forging.

I got the 3” which is thicker with a higher rating than the other sizes. Used it to make a retrievable rigging anchor. Either a #2 rigging thimble or a Pinto rig pulley fits through it easily for use in a choked configuration.
