ISC Rope Wrench
The ISC Rope Wrench has become a well established, popular tool within the production tree climbing industry and in tree climbing competitions.
The Rope Wrench, invented by genius tree climber Kevin Bingham of Detroit, provides an 'S' bend in the rope above the hitch cord. This effectively provides a contained double rope system, on a single rope, which shares the user's weight between the Wrench and the hitch. This allows the operation of the hitch, without the need for a double-rope system. The Rope Wrench allows easy horizontally movement, with greatly reduced friction on re-directs (compared with DdRT).

Not disappointed
Works great for me, was an easy transition from MRS just added the Rope wrench to the same hitch I’ve been using. Not sure I can think of any reason to go back to MRS now.
Best all around
The Wrench is a classic, robust, tried and true King of SRT devices. It does everything you need to with a properly tied hitch and will never fail you; nothing to worry about in terms of safety....properly used of course. They do need to be occasionally replaced(every 6 years or so) but pay for themselves over and over again. You can get three of these for the price of one mechanical...just for your consideration.

This was my second rope wrench, first being the notch version and I prefer this one from ISC because of how smooth it is. Get it in the kit with a caralink tether!
Solid
ISC Rope Wrench is a tried and true device that is solid and will last for years and years. Everybody should have one. Pairs great with a Caralink V2 tether for quickly switching between SRS and MRS if you need to advance your tie-in.

Who doesn't love the ISC Rope Wrench? I will run this any time I can. Its smooth, affordable, and is compatible with you're DRT gear. It also will work on any brand of 24 strand climbing rope just about.

So I have all of the mechanicals and I still find myself running this baby with a normal tether and pulley. There is just something about how smooth the ISC Rope Wrench functions. When training all of my new climbers I always choose to start them out on a rope wrench. Great Product and highly recommended!

Easy to get into SRS with this.
If you have a pulley and hitch cord, add the ISC rope wrench and you are on your way to climbing SRS. Very easy to learn and install.
Keep it a secret...
I know the ZigZag married to the Chicane is standard but I have crossed over to using the ISC Rope Wrench and tether. FOR ME!... this is preferred for only the fact that I can compress the Rope Wrench down to hit the ZigZag for descent. Also it will bend a little for lateral branch crossovers.
I love all ISC products
I don’t ever see me not using my ISC rope wrench even with a bunch of mechanicals around… there’s just something about this product mixed with the right tether, setup correctly that becomes so beautiful and rock solid reliable
Flashy and effective
I use the ISC rope wrench everytime I SRT. I can't imagine climbing without it. I got a pink one, so I can look cool while climbing. It makes the descent so smooth. I'd recommend this to any climber!
Must have
After climbing MRS I decided to jump into SRS and this ISC Rope Wrench was a no brainer. Was able to use my hitch cord and paired it with a single leg tether I was flying.

The ISC Rope Wrench is CE stamped and makes your perfect hitch useable for SRS. No mechanical can come close to that!

Belongs in Everyone's Gear Bag
With all the talk about 'advanced mechanical devices', climbing on a hitch seems so old-fashioned, but the ISC Rope Wrench will never go out of style. Then easiest and obvious choice for someone just getting into SRT, it is also a fantastic choice for the experienced. There is always a Wrench setup in my bag due to its ease of use and reliability.
A must have
The tool that revolutionized the industry. This is what made it possible to climb on a single line, and even with the devopment of mechanical devices, the rope wrench will always be around for its low price and reliability. Get one in every color! Also, I recommend listening to the Keven Bingham (the developer) interview on the Climbing Arborist podcast.
Great Device for being new to SRT
I purchased the rope wrench after using it in class at school. Awesome device and easily attaches to the line. Very smooth decent as well. I could stop about half way to from my decent without worry and enjoy the view! The best part is it comes in purple, all the cool kids have it in purple.
