It can be a little tricky. It is a half twist and fold in half. With this being said it won't hold this position like a folding cube holds it position. Once you have the half twist and fold it in half make sure to stuff it in it's attached pouch.

Nice features and easy to deploy in field.
I got this storage bag to store 4 weights, a line and an extra line coiled up. The pockets are nice and it has lots of options to clip carabineers into. Overall I like it. Its easier to pop up and collapse than those triangles that you have to twist. There is a technique to opening the triangles and it can be frustrating at times. The pop up wire in this bag doesn't exactly instill a "this thing is bomber" like some of the other cubes do. If you fight this bag, it feels like it'll break. Not the collapse, but the twist. it hasn't yet and I'm sure people get years of use of it, so well see. I like the packed down size and the storage options inside. the storage bag that is attached can get in the way a bit. Overall, it has perks over the other storage options and I like it.
It's okay
It works. The thing I really like is how compact it is. I don't like the memory the bag has from being collapsed. It tends to stay folded a bit. I've had one for a couple of years. It's held up well, but the folding of it and memory issues would prevent me from buying another.
It's slightly better than a cube
I've had this Edelrid bag for little over a year now and it's held up a lot better than the cubes. It fold up nice and compact but the wire frame is starting to distort a little causing it to hang up on itself when opening. Other than that small issue it's a good buy.
Round peg in a round hole!
In as little as a few months I’ve had several brands of classic cubes throw rods out of corners, which snag and eventually fail to keep the cube standing. I tried this ‘corner-less’ design on sale….and ended up buying three more-none have failed after a few months. This bag is also handy as a tote bag to carry those last few loose items, Debis, etc. back to the truck. The improved pack-ability opens organizational possibilities like keeping your rope and throw line in the same package/trip. The attached stuff sack helps protect your ‘cube’ during the abrasive gear shuffles of tree work. I like that it comes in two colors for us mortals who carry two throw sets and double bag isolate. It catches less wind to avoid the throw cube tumble-weed action. Great design Edelrid! The trick to folding it up is to find the red ribbon inside, and fold that side first -then the clips will always match up for stowing. The shape can warp a bit, but I’m always been able to make it stand up. At first I missed the velcro tab on my “cubes” which kept the top ball on the top, but I just thread the top ball through a handle before stowing into its pocket.
Great design
I have two of these “cubes” (Edelrid Spring Bag) and they are so ergonomic. Quality material for the price and keeps the throwline nice and tangle free.
Less tangles
I prefer this Edelrid Spring bag over the cubes that fold into triangles. I do not fold it completely into its disc like state; I fold in the two sides and stow in my gear bag flat. This way the line always stays as you flake it thus mitigating throwing a rats nest. Then you can use the bag that comes with it for odds and ends.
