These should work on all the Geckos if they are the ones manufactured by Distel. Any of the Geckos that are the 2.0 series may not. If you want you can always text us pictures to our main number and we can confirm based on the exact ones you have.
Good upgrade
Worth switching from Velcro if you want faster setup and removal.
Locked In!
These lower straps are a game changer for anyone why uses spurs! I’m a newer climber, just over a year in the industry. The entire time I had been using the classic leather straps on my Notch Gecko Aluminum spikes. My feet would feel loose after a while, even when I had tightened the straps down to an almost uncomfortable level at the start of the climb. They would shift underfoot and I wasn’t always sure where my kick would go while using the leather lowers. Enter the Distel Lowers w/ Click Buckles. Technically they’re supposed to go on Distel spikes, but they work just as good on Geckos, and I’m guessing any other spike with that common gaff and strap attachment set up. Anyways, after installing them and getting them properly sized for my boots, I was off to the races! First day using them, I was in a tree for 5 hours, and not once did I feel the position of the spike change. They felt attached to my feet in a way the leather lowers never had, giving me a whole new level of confidence on my ability to climb with spurs. I was kicking without looking, just walking up the tree, spiking out on limbs I would have been unsure of with my last straps. I know that with more time and experience I could have become this comfortable with my leather straps. But the things is, I didn’t want to wait for that. I wanted to feel secure in my spurs right now, and this the Distel click lowers, I do. If you still aren’t sure, consider this. Leather lowers are like skiing downhill on a pair of Nordic skis, loose, not much control, sort of awkward to steer. But the two part Distels are like skiing downhill on freshly waxed and sharpened downhill skis. You’re locked in, you know your feet will go exactly where you want them to, and that gives you the confidence to go fast. That’s all I’ve got. If I haven’t convinced you to get these lowers, then you must really love your classic leather straps. But I promise, you’ll love these more!
