Courant Squir Red 11.5mm Climbing Rope
Courant Squir was designed especially for SRT and/or use as an access line, Courant has re-developed their low stretch 32-strand 11.5mm diameter Squir rope with a more durable but still flexible sheath. Its low stretch (less than 2% elongation) ensures that the bounce effect is kept to a minimum when ascending the tree. The rope is heat treated in the factory for greater stability, and the sheath protects against wear from sharp toothed cam ascenders. The Squir retains its roundness while descending.

Yes courant does state that you are to soak your rope prior to first use. Here is their instructions.
4.1 Set up
Prior to first use:
- For ropes on reels, unroll to prevent rope twisting.
- Soak your rope for 24 hours in cold water and let it dry in a warm, ventilated room, away from UV
rays and away from sources of heat. It shrinks approximately 5%.

I've been climbing on all three colors of squir for the the past 2 years now and nothing beats it running mechanicals or hitches. feels good in the hand but isn't bulky, takes knots incredibly well. only downside is that you can only get a sewn eye splice
Butter Smooth
Heavy(er) climber, 210+ geared up and took some dialing on the RRP to get a gentle release on the bird, but the Courant Squir rope is fantastic. Knots well, durable, stays round. Wish it was a hair bigger, like drenaline when it breaks in and puffs up, thats about the only thing I can knock it for.
After about two years
I’ve been climbing on the Courant Squir daily for nearly two years now and it’s still my go to for an srt climb. I like the tight braid of the 32 strand and it knots well. I will mentioned that I have noticed it get a little more bounce to it over time. Not sure why that is but I’ve inspected it over and over again and have found no visible issues.

Phenomenal rope for the price, i’ve been running Courant Squir in my bulldog bone and it’s been holding up great ! I should’ve ordered 200 feet so I’ll be ordering it again. Highly recommend it.

Best line I've put through the Rope Runner Pro. It's surprisingly pliant and sends like butter. This Courant Squir rope + RRP has me on SRT way more and loving it. And it's gorgeous.
