The Arbsession caraLINK v2 Rope Wrench Tether was developed with the goal of providing a compact, solid tether but incorporating a way to quickly connect it into the climbing system, without the bulk of tape at the top of the carabiner.

Our kits are built with the DMM Perfect O for the 8.5" tether and the DMM Ultra O for the 12" tether. Other carabiners can also work with the caraLINK v2!
Details
With one leg of the tether extending down then outside the spine of the carabiner you reduce the leverage effect at the top of the carabiner. Now this tether isn't designed to be super stiff. It is sewn with the tightest of tolerances. Now with the NEW caraLINK v2, once the tether is installed on the carabiner the gate can now fully open. This allows you to install it on the top of the DMM Triple Attachment Pulley or DMM Hitch Climber Eccentric with ease.
When you use a traditional stiff tether you end up having the legs of the hitch cord, stiff tether and slack tending pulley all squished at the top of the carabiner. Not with this system!

Yes there are other carabiners that work. If the spine of the carabiner is larger in diameter than the DMM one we built it off of then it might just take a little more work to get it installed. Make sure you place the nose of the carabiner through the long leg first.
It does depend on the diameter of the climb line you have and the type of hitch you tie. If you tend to use a more compact hitch a 26"-28" eye to eye will work great. If you tie a longer hitch like a VT you might need a 30"-32". Tying anything more than this length would require the longer tether most likely.

I love that I don’t have to cram all the legs onto one carabiner and that I don’t have to mess with my hitch cord if I want to add of take it off, will definitely be buying another.
Great innovation
This is one of those products that you just scratch your head and say ‘why haven’t we always had this’. A logical progression from a MRS hitch climber pulley set up and seamless transitions between SRS and MRS when needed. The splicing department does a beautiful job with this tether. If tending gets a little wonky on you: look up ‘DMM grommets and Wallis’ which can also be found here on Arbsession.
Don't untie or unclip your hitch
This thing is rad. Very simple and fast to throw the wrench onto your system without taking things apart. Great ingenuity and quality
Funky and I love it
I was curious about this tether for a long time. I would look at it every time I was browsing and never pulled the trigger. Once I finally did, it really opened my eyes to how inefficient the standard rope wrench system is. For starters, the caralink attaches to the hitch climber, so it's so much easier to install in tree. Taking it on and off is a frigging dream. I really like being able to switch over to MRS once I get to my tie in, so this helped tremendously. It makes the climbing system more compact which is awesome. You should definitely add it to your gear bag! Besides, if you don't like it, (which is HIGHLY unlikely), your loved one won't be too upset because it isn't expensive at all. Buy it... End of story

Traditional tethers are really annoying to apply and remove when swapping between DRT/SRT and this Arbsession caraLINK v2 just makes the process that much easier. ISC Apex next!
